United Kingdom, Oct. 21 -- Glenn Close has reassured fans that she is doing well after sparking health concerns when she was spotted using a cane.

Just five days after she was photographed using a cane at the La Bola Negra premiere during 2026 NewFest at SVA Theatre in New York City on October 15, the 79-year-old actress took to Instagram to share a video revealing that she was recovering from hip replacement surgery.

The three-time Golden Globe winner said: "I wanted to just hop on and thank you for all of your love, and to explain why I have a cane.

"I have a cane because I have had a complete hip replacement. Found out that my left hip was in really bad shape.
