United Kingdom, Aug. 5 -- Gary Glitter has appeared in court charged with a series of historic sexual offences, including three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14 and one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 13.

The 82-year-old disgraced former glam rock star, born Paul Gadd, appeared before Westminster Magistrates' Court via videolink, where the case was sent to the Old Bailey for further proceedings.

The charges, reported by The Sun, relate to allegations involving one complainant and concern offences alleged to have taken place between 1978 and 1981 at Glitter's former home in Kensington and Chelsea, west London.
