United Kingdom, March 18 -- The family of Eric Dane were reportedly "saddened" he wasn't featured in the Oscars In Memoriam segment.

The late Grey's Anatomy actor - who died on February 19 aged 53 after battling degenerative neurological disorder ALS - wasn't included in the annual tribute segment during Sunday's (15.03.26) Academy Awards, while James Van Der Beek and others also weren't part of the remembrance.

According to TMZ, a source close to Dane's widow Rebecca Gayheart has revealed the family were "saddened" not to see him featured in the broadcast.

An Academy insider explained that the decision wasn't made with malice, as there simply wasn't enough time to include everyone.

However, he will still be featured on the In Memoria...
