United Kingdom, Aug. 1 -- Emmy Rossum and husband Sam Esmail use a deck of cards to divide up household chores.

The 39-year-old actress - who shares a five-year-old son and three-year-old daughter with her spouse - explained they've been using something called The Fair Play Deck to split responsibilities at home.

She told People: "We're trying it out, and right now, [Sam's] got middle of the night care. My son was up four times last night, and he got up every time to make sure he had what he needed.

"He's just very, very kind."

Emmy added that Sam, who she married in 2017, is "amazing with both of our kids".
