United Kingdom, June 12 -- Dwayne Johnson had a testicular cancer scare - but didn't even tell his wife.

The 54-year-old actor - who has Simone, 25, with first wife Dany Garcia and Jasmine, 10, and Tiana, eight, with spouse Lauren Hashian - discovered a "really painful" lump in his testicle while showering one recent Friday, and visited his doctor on the Monday morning, where he was told it was most likely epididymitis, inflimation of the empididymis, but he couldn't rule out something more sinister so was told he needed to book an ultrasound scan.

He admitted to the summer edition of Esquire magazine: "I didn't even tell Lauren.

"I didn't want to worry her before I knew if it was anything to even worry about."
