United Kingdom, Aug. 27 -- Dolly Parton's Broadway show will still debut as planned following her death.

The 9 to 5 hitmaker - who passed away on Tuesday (25.08.26) at the age of 80 following a "brief battle" with cancer - wrote new songs for DOLLY: A True Original Musical, which will also feature classics from her back catalogue, and as per her wishes, the production will start previews in New York later this year, show bosses have confirmed.

Producers confirmed in a statement: "As was Dolly's wish, the Broadway production of DOLLY: A True Original Musical will begin previews December 7 at the St. James Theatre in New York City with opening set for January 19, 2027, what would have been her 81st birthday."
