United Kingdom, Aug. 18 -- David Spade used to regularly admit he was "jealous" of his Saturday Night Live co-stars.

The 62-year-old stand-up comedian was open about his desire to receive more airtime on the NBC sketch comedy series, on which he featured as a writer and cast member from 1990 to 1996.

He said on his Fly On the Wall podcast: "When you go to SNL, and then you're hearing all these whispers of like, someone's getting on [the air] more there, I would actively admit I was jealous."

David has also recalled how he would praise now-Hollywood actor Adam Sandler for some of his sketches.
