United Kingdom, July 1 -- David Boreanaz had "no idea" what a phenomenon Buffy The Vampire Slayer was going to be when it first started.

The 57-year-old starred as Angel in the show, opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar in the titular role, and its spinoff Angel.

However, in an interview with The Upcoming, David insisted he was totally unaware of how popular the programme, which ran from 1997 to 2003, was to become.
