United Kingdom, June 24 -- Daryl Hall has had a kidney transplant.

The 79-year-old Hall Oates star took to Instagram to reveal he had undergone the operation earlier this month (Jun26) - with the kidney donated by a "kind and generous living donor".

He wrote: "I thought you should know that I recently received a kidney transplant from a very kind and generous living donor.

"It happened a couple of weeks ago, and I'm already starting to feel better."

Daryl added that his doctors had told him the procedure was a "complete success".

He concluded by saying that he's hoping to be "back to normal in a few months", as he said: "Get ready for more music and lots of Daryl's House shows. You all take care."
