United Kingdom, June 1 -- Dame Shirley Bassey is recovering after undergoing surgery on her hand.

The Goldfinger singer, 89, has revealed she's had an operation on her right hand and her recovering is "coming along slowly" confessing she's still struggling with every day tasks such as writing and eating but she's doing much better.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote: "Thank you so much for asking how my hand is after the operation - it's coming along slowly. I still find it difficult to write, and eating with my left hand which is not easy but helps with my diet!"

In the post Shirley revealed she's currently visiting Spain and spending time with her son and his family.

Shirley hasn't given any further details of the nature of her hand ...
