United Kingdom, Dec. 18 -- Dame Denise Lewis thinks a lack of communication with and respect for a partner causes long-term relationships to break down.

In November, the Olympic gold medallist took to her Instagram Stories to reveal that she and music mogul Steve Finan O'Connor - who looked after acts, including the late Liam Payne, 31, as well as Neneh Cherry, 61, and All Saints - secretly split in 2023 after 18 years of marriage.

And although the former Heptathlete has kept the details of their breakup private, Denise - who insisted her and Steve's decision to separate was made with "mutual respect and care for one another" - has shared the reasons she thinks cause relationships to end.
