United Kingdom, Aug. 10 -- Chrissy Metz is using weight-loss medication.

The 45-year-old star - who is best known for playing Kate Pearson in This Is Us, the hit TV series, between 2016 and 2022 - has revealed that she's used GLP-1 to help manage her food cravings and improve her mobility.

Chrissy told People: "I just wanted to take care of myself.

"I'm not getting any younger. I'm in perimenopause, and there were obesity issues within my family and with my father, and I felt like I've tried so many modalities, whether it was diets or therapy, and none of it really worked for me."
