United Kingdom, July 9 -- Charlie Sheen has agreed to pay his former wife Brooke Mueller $500,000 in back child support.

The actor, 60, is making the move after the former couple reached a settlement in their long-running legal dispute over payments for their twin sons.

Charlie was ordered by a judge to pay Brooke, 48, the agreed sum after she returned to court in December claiming the Two and a Half Men actor had failed to pay the full amount of child support owed for their sons, Max and Bob, 17.

Actress Brooke had originally sought $15 million in the proceedings.
