United Kingdom, July 10 -- Charli xcx believes in ghosts - but she is too scared to try and make contact with a spirit.

The 33-year-old pop star is convinced that the world has a supernatural element and that the spirits of the dead are walking among us.

But Charli is too nervous to be "digging spiritually" looking for proof and would rather let the spooks roam in peace rather than try and summon one.

Appearing on the Mainstage Interviews podcast, she said: "I believe in ghosts, but I don't necessarily want to like engage with it. But I respect it. My whole take on it is I do believe, but I like to kind of just keep it at a distance.
