United Kingdom, Dec. 30 -- Chappell Roan has insisted she does "not condone" Brigitte Bardot's views after paying tribute to the late actress.

The 27-year-old pop star - who references the former model and actress in her 2023 song Red Wine Supernova - has backtracked on her tribute to the star after she died on Sunday (28.12.25) aged 91.

After news of Bardot's death, Chappell wrote on Instagram: "Rest in peace Ms. Bardot. She was my inspiration for red wine supernova."

In the first verse of the hit song, she sings: "She was a playboy, Brigitte Bardot / She showed me things I didn't know."

However, on Monday (29.12.25) the singer took to her Instagram Story with another post about the late star.
