United Kingdom, Sept. 19 -- Carrot Top has been hospitalised in Las Vegas after a reported suicide attempt forced the cancellation of his long-running show at the Luxor Hotel and Casino.

The 61-year-old comedian, whose real name is Scott Thompson, was taken to a local hospital on Friday (18.09.26) after an incident in the Las Vegas area, according to TMZ.

The outlet reported, citing unnamed sources familiar with the situation, that Scott had attempted suicide.

His scheduled 8pm performance at the Luxor was subsequently cancelled.

Scott's representative, Jami Schlicher, confirmed the comic was receiving treatment in hospital but did not confirm TMZ's account of what had led to his admission.
