United Kingdom, June 5 -- Carmen Electra has urged the cast of the Baywatch reboot to be in "tip-top shape".

The 54-year-old actress played Lani McKenzie in Baywatch, the hit action-drama series, in 1997 and 1998, and Carmen has now shared some advice with the cast of the Baywatch reboot.

Asked what advice she'd give to the cast - which includes Jessica Belkin, Thaddeus LaGrone, Hassie Harrison, Brooks Nader, Noah Beck, and Shay Mitchell - Carmen told E! News: "It's a lot of hard work.

"So, you just want to be in tip-top shape before you step out there, period. And work on your swimming techniques. Because it's hard. It's not an easy job."

Carmen worked with a real-life lifeguard in preparation for her time on Baywatch.
