United Kingdom, March 5 -- Britney Spears has been arrested for allegedly driving under the influence (DUI).

The Gimme More singer was picked up by the California Highway Patrol in Ventura County at around 9.30pm on Wednesday (04.03.26) night and booked at 3am on Thursday (05.03.26).

However, Ventura County Sheriff's inmate records - which listed Britney's occupation as a "celebrity" show she has already been released and, according to The US Sun, she must appear in court on 4 May.

News of Britney's arrest comes just hours after it was revealed she has been granted a permanant restraining order against a man who showed up at her Los Angeles home, having made numerous "disturbing social media posts" about the Toxic hitmaker.
