United Kingdom, Sept. 21 -- Brigitte Bardot's widower Bernard d'Ormale has slammed the "disrespectful" and "scandalous" auction of her personal belongings.

The Hollywood actress died last year at the age of 91 following a secret battle with cancer and her estate was subsequently divided up between her animal charity and her only son Nicolas-Jacques Charrier. The foundation is now selling off items from her homes in St Tropez and Paris with the proceeds benefiting both Charrier and the charity - and her husband d'Ormale has now spoken out against it.

He told French newspaper Nice Matin: "These are personal items. Why hold this sale? For the animals? It's a joke and disrespectful to Brigitte's memory.
