United Kingdom, Sept. 21 -- Becky Hill "hated every minute" of her 20s.

The 32-year-old singer, who shot to fame when she appeared on talent show The Voice, had a particularly tough time the year she turned 21 as she was raped by a "friend" and, while trying to establish herself as an artist away from her reality TV background, she found herself dropped by her record label.

She told The Guardian's Saturday magazine: "Aside from the music I was making, I hated every minute of my 20s.

"It was a decade of establishing myself as an artist, shaking off the stigma of coming from a TV show, as well as a lot of personal turbulence. In the same year, I got dropped by my label and raped by a friend.
