United Kingdom, Oct. 20 -- Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz's teenage son wants to follow in their footsteps.

The 42-year-old pop star and her Fall Out Boy rocker ex-husband have 17-year-old son Bronx together, and ahead of his 18th birthday on November 20, he's clearly been influenced by his famous parents.

Ashlee told E! News: "I'm about to be a mom of an 18 year old, which is just so wild. A lot of my kids love music, especially my oldest."

Bronx is planning to study music at college, and the Boyfriend singer is keen to "see where that takes him".

She added: "I'm so proud of him, and I love that boy."

Ashlee also has kids Jagger, 11, and five-year-old Ziggy with husband Evan Ross.
