United Kingdom, Sept. 3 -- Christy Knowings' cause of death has been revealed.

The 46-year-old actress died from cardiac arrest on August 11, with acute hypoxic respiratory failure and status asthmaticus as conditions leading to her passing, and asthma being the underlying cause, according to a death certificate obtained by People.

A family member had told TMZ that Christy was hospitalised four days earlier following an asthma attack and then taken off life support.

Christy's aunt Tyleah Joseph announced her death on Facebook on August 12.

Following the news, her manager Al Hill told Variety: "Christy was a multi-talented lady.
