United Kingdom, Oct. 19 -- 50 Cent was never ashamed that his late mother was a lesbian.

The Candy Shop rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, discovered his mother Sabrina Jackson's sexuality following her murder when he was just eight years of age and insists that the realisation never held a stigma for him.

In an interview with Variety, 50 Cent said: "When your mom has friends around, you look at them and just see friends. And how often does a woman have a female friend that she's close to that she talks with often?

"As a child, I just saw two women hanging out. My grandmother informed me later that there was more going on and they weren't just friends, and I was like, 'Oh! Now I know what that was!'
