United Kingdom, April 14 -- Bessie Carter has promised herself she will "stop dating red flags".

The Bridgerton actress, who was previously dating her co-star Sam Phillips, has told how she is single and has "never been happier", which is partly thanks to her having some "wonderful friends".

Bessie - who is the daughter of actors Dame Imelda Staunton and Jim Carter - wrote on her Substack: "I am content. I am quiet. I am single. And I have never been happier."

In a post in which she discussed making friends, she said: "I wanted to come back to myself. To romance my life. To buy myself flowers (thanks Miley). To learn what I authentically loved and not what was 'in'. To read books again.
