United Kingdom, April 1 -- Stellar Blade developer Shift Up has bought Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami's new studio.

Mikami, who has also worked on the likes of Devil May Care and The Evil Within, founded Unbound in 2022 a fully independent venture after he left Tango Gameworks before Microsoft shut the studio down.

Despite not publicly revealing any projects in that time, Mikami has now confirmed he's working on "a fairly large" title.

In an announcement video, he teased: "We're going to create a masterpiece of a game."
