United Kingdom, Sept. 8 -- PlayStation's long-dormant Killzone franchise could be making a comeback, with reports suggesting Sony and Guerrilla Games are preparing a new project based on the former flagship shooter series.

According to MP1st, a new Killzone title is currently in the very early stages of development. While an official announcement is not expected soon, sources familiar with the project claim that Guerrilla Games has begun work on bringing the franchise back after more than a decade away.

The report suggests the project is being developed with support from an external studio rather than being created entirely in-house at Guerrilla.
