India, Sept. 28 -- Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has started production of the updated Slavia at its Chakan manufacturing facility in Pune, putting the sedan on track to reach customers during India's festive buying period. The timing is significant for the model, which has sold nearly 80,000 units in the country since its launch and currently accounts for around 30% of its segment, according to the company. The latest version retains the Slavia's existing focus on safety and driving dynamics, but adds changes to its equipment, cabin experience and powertrain options.
