India, Oct. 15 -- Hyundai has confirmed that its global luxury brand, Genesis, will launch in India in 2027. Contrary to earlier speculations from August that suggested Genesis cars might enter India as Completely Built Units (CBUs), the Korean carmaker has now revealed plans for local production, aligning with the government's Make in India initiative. The move will make Genesis more affordable and accessible to a wider audience. Currently, India's luxury car market is niche and dominated by established players like Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz. Genesis's entry into India, with locally produced models, could introduce more competitively priced options in the premium segment.
