India, March 16 -- Honda has begun pan-India road testing of its first electric car, the 0 Alpha. The mid-size electric SUV, based on the concept of the same name that debuted at the Japan Mobility Show last year, is expected to launch in India in 2027. It will be manufactured in India, likely at the brand's Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, backed by an investment of reportedly Rs 1,200 crore. Moreover, the SUV will be exported to other markets from India, positioning the country as an export hub for Honda's first EV.
