India, July 22 -- Citroen has expanded the Basalt range in India with the launch of the new X Comfort Edition, priced from Rs 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom). Introduced as part of the brand's 108th anniversary celebrations, the special edition carries a premium of Rs 20,000 over the standard entry-level 'You' variant. More importantly, it focuses on making convenience features available on lower- and mid-spec trims rather than reserving them for top-end models.

The Basalt becomes the second Citroen model in India to receive the Comfort Edition treatment after the Aircross, reflecting the company's effort to improve the overall value proposition of its mainstream line-up.
