India, Oct. 23 -- BYD's YangWang U9 Xtreme EV has become the first electric vehicle to complete a lap of the Nurburgring Nordschleife in under seven minutes. Covering the 20.832km circuit in 6 minutes 59.157 seconds, the U9 Xtreme now holds the record as the fastest electric production sports car at the German track. The achievement is the result of months of testing and development, combining advanced engineering with professional racing expertise to extract maximum performance from the hypercar. Before its Nurburgring record, the U9 Xtreme had recorded a top speed of 496.22km/h on a German test track earlier in 2025, establishing itself as one of the fastest production electric vehicles worldwide.
