India, Oct. 19 -- The Renault Duster is back in the Indian SUV market with a strong-hybrid powertrain, and it has a familiar rival to contend with: the Maruti Suzuki Victoris. Both SUVs target buyers who want the benefits of electrified driving without having to plug in, but they approach the job differently. The Duster Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 combines a 1.8-litre petrol engine with two electric motors and claims a fuel efficiency of 29km/l. The Victoris uses a smaller 1.5-litre petrol engine in its strong-hybrid setup and claims 28.65km/l. That puts the two close on paper, so the decision comes down to more than a small difference in claimed mileage.
