CANBERRA, ACT, Aug. 28 -- Australian Federal Police issued the following media release:
This is a joint media release between AFP and Australian Border ForceTwo New Zealand citizens and a man from Fiji appeared before Fairfield Local Court today (28 August, 2026) charged with affray and assault allegedly committed at the Villawood Immigration Detention Centre after an incident yesterday (27 August).
After initial inquires, Australian Border Force (ABF) officers referred the matter to AFP for further investigation.
