CANBERRA, ACT, Oct. 15 -- Australian Federal Police issued the following media release:
A Tasmanian man is expected to appear before Launceston Magistrates' Court on 16 December, 2026, charged over alleged online threats directed toward a federal parliamentarian.
The AFP charged the Ravenswood man, 54, today (15 October, 2026) after an allegedly threatening email was sent to the office of a federal parliamentarian on 14 September, 2026.
It will be alleged the email contained explicit references to serious violence directed at the parliamentarian.
Investigators from an AFP National Security Investigations (NSI) team, with the assistance of Tasmania Police, executed a search warrant at a Ravenswood home today, where they seized multipl...
