CANBERRA, ACT, Sept. 3 -- Australian Federal Police issued the following media release:
A Berridale man is expected to face Queanbeyan District Court today (3 September, 2026) charged with allegedly threatening a federal parliamentarian on social media.
The AFP's National Security Investigations (NSI) team began an investigation in July, 2026, after receiving a report of an alleged online threat to kill a federal parliamentarian.
Police linked the man, 53, to the alleged social media post.
The AFP executed a search warrant at a home in Berridale, NSW, today (2 September, 2026), where investigators seized a mobile phone for forensic examination.
