Xi Jinping advocates Global South cooperation as he heads to BRICS summit in Delhi: Xinhua
New Delhi, Sept. 11 -- As India begins hosting the BRICS summit amid pressing global economic concerns linked to the various conflicts, including the US-Iran war, Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to attend the gathering in New Delhi.
Xinhua, in its report, informed that Xi also attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in the Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek last week with an aim to "galvanise solidarity and cooperation across the Global South".
The report stated that both groupings -- BRICS and SCO -- have expanded their membership and networks of developing partners. Their members together represent more than half of the world's population and about 30 per cent of the global economy.
