West Bengal rolls out VB-G RAM G Scheme, replacing MGNREGA from July 1
Kolkata, June 30 -- The West Bengal government announced the implementation of the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) [VB-G RAM G] Scheme, which comes into force from wednesday, replacing the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), 2005.
According to an official statement, the scheme will be implemented in all rural areas of the state. The scheme is expected to benefit nearly 2.56 crore job card holders in West Bengal by guaranteeing 125 days of wage employment to every eligible rural household in a financial year.
The programme will be implemented through Viksit Gram Panchayat Plans, prepared by Gram Panchayats and integrated with the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan. It will f...
