London, Sept. 22 -- Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder and leader Altaf Hussain has called for a change in what he described as Pakistan's "corrupt, unjust and oppressive" political system, alleging that the country is being governed under the influence of powerful elements of the military establishment.

Addressing a gathering organised by MQM UK in London to mark his 73rd birthday on Monday, Hussain said his opposition was not directed at any individual but at what he described as a system in which political power is placed above the law.
