Vance to visit New York, Trump to stay in Washington to commemorate 25th anniversary of 9/11 terror attack
Washington DC, Sept. 3 -- US Vice President JD Vance on Thursday (local time) said that he will travel to New York to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks, while President Donald Trump will remain in Washington to mark the anniversary at the Pentagon.
During a media briefing here, Vance said that the decision was made to allow the two leaders to commemorate the attacks at different locations, with New York and the Pentagon being central to the tragedy.
"We just decided as a team that I would go to New York for 9/11 and the President would stay here in DC, of course, to commemorate what happened at the Pentagon because that was a critical part of the tragedy of 9/11 as well," Vance said.
