Uttarakhand electoral rolls see over 17 lakh deletions during SIR
Dehradun, Oct. 8 -- Uttarakhand's electoral rolls recorded over 17 lakh deletions and more than four lakh additions during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process conducted between January 6, 2025 and October 3, 2026, according to district-wise data released by the State Election Office.
The total number of registered voters in the state declined from 84,29,459 to 71,58,949 during the revision period.
As per the data, 4,01,276 new voters were added across the state, while 17,05,130 names were deleted from the electoral rolls. Of the deleted names, 8,26,977 were categorised under Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate (ASDD).
