Dehradun, Sept. 23 -- Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday offered prayers to Lord Dhanvantari at the Chief Minister's residence on the occasion of Ayurveda Day and prayed for the health, happiness, prosperity and well-being of the people of the state.

Dhami said Ayurveda is an integral part of India's ancient knowledge tradition and rich heritage.

He emphasised that Ayurveda plays an important role in promoting a healthy lifestyle and preventing diseases.

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ayurveda and India's traditional systems of medicine are gaining a new identity and recognition at the global level.
