US chip curbs have sharply restrained China's high-end AI chip production: 'Chip War' Author Chris Miller
New Delhi, Sept. 16 -- US restrictions on the transfer of advanced chipmaking technology to China have significantly limited the country's ability to produce high-end artificial intelligence chips domestically, according to Chris Miller, author of the acclaimed book 'Chip War' and a leading expert on semiconductors.
Speaking to ANI in an exclusive interview, Miller said China has invested billions of dollars and spent years building its semiconductor industry but continues to account for only a small share of global high-end AI chip production.
"The evidence suggests that US restrictions have been highly effective in restraining China's domestic chip production," Miller said.
