Washington DC, Aug. 25 -- The US Supreme Court on Monday said that President Trump could begin carrying out parts of the executive order which intends to restrict mail voting, CBS News reported.

The 6-3 decision gave the Trump administration a victory on Monday ahead of the November midterms.

Shortly after the announcement, the US Postal Service and Justice Department said that they would implement the revised mail-ballot restrictions after the ruling.

As per CBS News, the ruling makes way for the Department of Homeland Security to go ahead with a proposal to create lists of residents in each state eligible to vote.
