Varanasi, Aug. 30 -- Varanasi Municipal Corporation in Uttar Pradesh is on alert due to the intermittent heavy rains in the city. Municipal Commissioner Himanshu Nagpal took to the streets and inspected various major intersections and roads in the city to ensure that low-lying and sensitive areas do not become waterlogged during the rains.

The Municipal Commissioner conducted a detailed inspection of Kachari Square, Police Line Square, Pandeypur Square, Hukulganj Road, Tari Khana Tiraha, Chowkaghat, Teliyabag, Mari Mata, Maldahiya Square, Sajan Tiraha, Sigra Square, Rathyatra Square, Mahmoorganj, Andharapul, and Maqbool Alam Road.
