UAE says Iranian attack on tanker constitutes 'flagrant violation' of UN resolution
Abu Dhabi, Aug. 8 -- The United Arab Emirates has registered its "strong condemnation of the Iranian aggression" directed at an ADNOC tanker during its passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to a statement issued by the UAE Foreign Ministry, the assault represented a "flagrant violation" of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which upholds freedom of navigation and opposes the targeting of commercial ships in international maritime zones.
