Agartala, July 31 -- Tripura has crossed a significant milestone in renewable energy generation, with the cumulative installed capacity of rooftop solar systems under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana surpassing 15 MW, marking significant progress towards decentralised and sustainable power generation across the state.

According to official data available as of July 27, 2026, a total of 17,330 applications have been registered under the scheme in Tripura. Of these, 7,846 applications have been submitted, representing a proposed solar capacity of 24,733 kWp. Rooftop solar installations have already been completed in 4,460 households, achieving a cumulative installed capacity of 15,300 kWp (15.3 MW).
