Shimla, Nov. 6 -- Himachal Pradesh has termed the Supreme Court's verdict on its long-pending electricity share in the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) a historic victory, with the state government claiming that the decision will secure 11,973 million units of electricity for the state over the next 20 years and generate an annual economic benefit of around Rs 400 crore.

The state government has now indicated that it will intensify its efforts to secure Himachal Pradesh's 7.19 per cent share in Chandigarh, describing it as the next major issue in its pursuit of the state's entitlements.
