TMC MPs seek LS Speaker's intervention against rebel group, cite anti-defection law
New Delhi, June 14 -- All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) Members of Parliament, led by Kirti Azad and Sagarika Ghose, met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Sunday to submit a formal representation against what they termed as an "unconstitutional" attempt to fragment the party within the House.
When asked if they had a prior appointment, Kirti Azad said, "If Sir gives us the time, we will go. Otherwise, we will leave after receiving."
Speaking to the media following the submission of their application, Azad invoked recent judicial observations to bolster the party's stance.
