Chennai, May 7 -- The political landscape of Tamil Nadu has been plunged into volatility following a hung verdict in the recent Assembly elections. In a high-stakes meeting held on Thursday at Anna Arivalayam, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Legislature Party passed a scathing resolution condemning the Congress party for abandoning the Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) and supporting Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
The meeting, chaired by outgoing Chief Minister and DMK Chief MK Stalin, marked a formal rupture between the long-term allies. The DMK accused Congress of failing to shed its "old political character" and jeopardising a victory built on the hard work of alliance cadres.
