Chennai, Aug. 31 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay on Monday announced a further increase in milk procurement prices to Rs 44 per litre, marking a cumulative jump of Rs 6 across the state.

The announcement was made under Rule 110 of Tamil Nadu Assembly rules following rising input costs, as highlighted by stakeholders.

CM Vijay has also announced that a semiconductor park will be set up at Maduramangalam in Kanchipuram district. To tackle power cuts in Chennai, a new electricity corridor will be set up for Rs 1762 crore.

In addition, a new electricity corridor project worth Rs 1550 crore will also be taken up, CM Vijay said.
